“Growing up moving from one shophouse to another, my family and I have always had a soft spot for these beautiful bones of heritage.
Where people see cracks in the walls, we see the chance to fill in these blanks and create something new and joyful in the process — an amalgamation of the old and newer ways of living.
I hope to share with you our love of heritage, by lending a younger, fresher voice of expression to these century-old homes through the combination of design and lovingly-curated personal pieces for all around to appreciate. ”
OUR WHY
Designed for the Global nomad with a penchant for quirky, bohemian aesthetics…
Linger was borne out of Singaporean native, Shu L., and her family’s innate love for the arts, heritage and local community.
An avid traveller and design-aholic, this passion for experiencing new cultures from a local’s point of view and seeking independently-run, off-the-beaten-track heritage abodes around the world translated into a simple desire to offer a similarly personal, curated style of living to others back home.

At Linger, we favour all things unique and flavourful by evoking the soul and idiosyncratic charm of these iconic shophouses — bringing the focus on all-inclusive, self-catering homes back to the fore.
With rich storied histories that date back to the early 1930s (yes, all our shophouses are almost a 100years old!), we bring to the table memorable quirks and design aesthetic: lovingly-restoring these homes as unique shophouse lofts to include all the modern comforts you could want whilst retaining their timeless elegance.
In our belief that everything deserves a second chance through a process of re-purposing and re-loving, we have curated the interiors of each home with a focus on laid-back eclecticism and a constant rotation of vintage and new furniture pieces to offer you an array of authentic little touches whilst keeping the heritage alive.
